Auto Express declares Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen-3 the ‘best choice’ for UK market

Goodyear’s premium all season tyre won Auto Express’ latest test, proving its excellent grip reserves in wet and snowy conditions

Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen-3 came out on top in Auto Express’ recent all season tyre test1. In particular, it excelled in wet conditions, with Auto Express calling it “the best choice for the UK” in winter.

“On the handling track it felt good, with a safe, front-limited balance and plenty of notice of the rear moving at the limit,” testers reported. “It had the edge over its very good rival and backed up this performance with wins in all the other wet tests. Add in the fact that it was also the quietest and most fuel-efficient, and you have our favourite.”

On snow, testers were again impressed by the Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen-3’ performance. It ended the test just 5% off a winter tyre designed for markets with frequent and heavy snowfall.

Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen-3 also differentiated itself from its competitors by being the quietest and most fuel-efficient among those tested, particularly important with the increasing popularity of electric SUVs.

Goodyear Vector 4Seasons has ‘three times grip on snow’

The test also presented an important comparison: relative to a benchmark premium SUV summer tyre, Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen-3 had three times the grip in braking and double during acceleration. This difference is compounded by the weight and size of modern SUVs.

Andy Marfleet, Marketing Director UK&I, Goodyear, commented: “When it comes to choosing between tyres for the colder, wetter UK months, there is no better product than Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen-3. It was developed specifically to handle the wide range of conditions and performs excellently in the extreme dry and extreme wet. And, with it being the quietest and most fuel efficient, it’s optimised for the latest generation of electric SUVs.”
