King of the commute. Dunlop ScootSmart scoops test win.

Dunlop is renowned for their race-winning hypersport tyres, but Germany’s Scooter & Sport magazine has also rated Dunlop as winners in the everyday race to work. The magazine declared the latest Dunlop ScootSmart as the overall test winner, earning the coveted ‘Recommendation’ from the highly-regarded publication.

Scooter and Sport (Issue 1/2020) tested 5 brands of tyre on Honda Forza 300 (Sizes: 120/70-15 front and 140/70-14 rear) and focused on dry and wet grip and handling.

The test team were wowed by the ScootSmart’s grip: “Even if a bump pushes you out at full lean angle, the Dunlop sticks securely. The braking is very stable. They perform magically on wet asphalt without rising the rider’s pulse.”

The testers also praised the feel and feedback from the tyre. “When rolling into a bend, they feel light-footed. Whether sneaking through traffic or racing, the steering power remains the same. That’s very pleasant because it is so clearly predictable.”

Whilst a scooter can bring fun to the commute, many riders are seeking comfort too. The testers noted that Dunlop ScootSmart excels in this area too, before concluding:

“The ScootSmart was clearly our favourite. Fast riding was made easy, without any disadvantage at touring speed.”

Dmitri Talboom, Product Manager, Dunlop Motorcycle Europe, said: “Dunlop launched the ScootSmart with the objective of bringing their Sport Touring motorcycle performance knowledge into the premium scooter market. The ScootSmart features silica in the compound. This gives improved mileage and strong wet, dry and cold weather performance for scooter riders. The tread pattern is derived from the multiple test-winning Dunlop RoadSmart range, bringing genuine ‘big bike’ technology to the scooter tyre market.”

The Dunlop ScootSmart is available in a vast range of over 50 sizes.
