Goodyear’s UltraGrip Performance+ takes home first prize in winter tire test by Auto Bild sportscars

German car magazine Auto Bild sportscars has published the results of its winter tire test, with Goodyear’s UltraGrip Performance+ coming out on top as the overall winner.

Goodyear’s latest winter tire is praised for its exemplary handling in all weather conditions. Auto Bild sportscars applauded the UltraGrip Performance+ for its handling on snowy surfaces in particular.

The tire came out as the overall winner in the test, during which eleven tires[1] were assessed according to 14 separate criteria. The UltraGrip Performance+ was the best in several aspects. Regardless of the weather conditions, it always had the shortest braking distance. On a wet surface, the test vehicle fitted with the Goodyear tires only needed 45.7 meters to stop at 100 km/h, 1.5 meters less than its closest competitor. On snow, the UltraGrip Performance+ had a braking distance of 27.6 meters, 0.4 meters shorter than the next competitor. The tire also had the best performance in handling and aquaplaning on a wet surface.

Auto Bild sportscars describes the handling of the UltraGrip Performance+ as exemplary in all weather conditions. The magazine also praised the tire for its dynamic wet handling and very good braking qualities on snowy surfaces. Last but not least, the tire impressed with its low rolling resistance.

Mike Rytokoski, Vice-President, Chief Marketing Officer Europe for Goodyear: “The Auto Bild sportscars winter tire test is the second acknowledgement for the recently launched Goodyear UltraGrip Performance+, after having won the winter tire test carried out by AUTO MOTOR UND SPORT in September[2]. Proof that our latest Goodyear winter tire is one of the best on the market.”
