Goodyear’s UltraGrip Performance+ outperforms competition in winter tire test by AUTO MOTOR UND SPORT

Prestigious German car magazine AUTO MOTOR UND SPORT1 has rated the new Goodyear UltraGrip Performance+ as the best overall tire in its first winter tire test of the year. The tire also led the pack in terms of braking distances on snow.

AUTO MOTOR UND SPORT has described the UltraGrip Performance+ as a top winter tire with excellent grip both on snowy surfaces and in wet corners. The tire is praised for its very reliable and easily controllable load change reactions. The UltraGrip Performance+ handles well on snowy and wet road surfaces. It also performs well in braking on dry surfaces and has a very balanced interaction with the electronic vehicle dynamics control system (VDC). This led to a total score of 8.9 out of 10, with the Goodyear UltraGrip Performance+ being crowned the overall test winner.

AUTO MOTOR UND SPORT tested eleven tires1 using a Volkswagen T-Roc on test circuits in Ivalo and northern Germany. The tests looked at several aspects such as braking, aquaplaning, handling, lane changing and noise. There were five tests on snow and twelve others on both wet and dry surfaces. The UltraGrip Performance+ was unbeatable during the tests on snow, receiving a score of 9.7 out of 10.
