Goodyear Showcases Progress in Amiens Plant Modernization During President Macron Visit
Goodyear is continuing the transformation of its Amiens tire manufacturing plant through a major modernization program launched in 2022.The modernization, supported by the French government’s France 2030 program, strengthens the site’s competitiveness and positions it for the future.
“We’re proud to welcome President Macron to Amiens and show the progress our team has made,” said Mark Stewart, Chief Executive Officer and President of The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. “Over the past several years, we’ve reshaped this plant—bringing in more advanced technologies, increasing automation and digital solutions to shift its production toward premium, higher-value tires.”
Established in 1958, the Amiens plant employs nearly 800 associates and produces consumer tires for the global original equipment and replacement markets. The investment also includes a strong focus on people, with expanded training, upskilling programs and active recruitment across a range of roles, from operators to engineers—to help ensure the site’s transformation supports both new technologies and the future workforce.
“This modernization is about our people and the future of the Amiens facility,” Stewart added. “Together with the French government, we’ve strengthened this site and built on Goodyear’s long-standing presence in France, reinforcing our commitment to manufacturing and jobs here.”
