Goodyear expands Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 range to fit some of the most popular cars in the market

Goodyear’s award-winning Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 will be available in a greater number of sizes in 2023. The tire delivers leading ultra-high performance across both wet and dry conditions and is ready for the latest generation of EVs and SUVs which have surged in popularity across Europe.

In 2023, the tire will be available in four new and strategic sizes to cover popular models such as the Kia Sportage, Peugeot 5008, and Tesla Model 3. Tire sizes 235/45R18 98Y XL and 245/40R19 101Y HL are already available, while 225/55R18 102Y XL and 225/55R18 98Y will be on the market in April and June respectively. Thanks to these new sizes, Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 become an increasingly complete range: there are more than 70 SKUs with which an increasing number of vehicles can be equipped.

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 is strategically positioned to take advantage of current trends seen in the passenger vehicle market. With EVs and SUVs taking a larger percentage of the car parc, the tire delivers low rolling resistance and offers high performance in wet and dry conditions.

The new sizes are in line with tire popularity and growth in the European SUV and EV segment. In 2022, new SUV sales accounted for 43% of the European market, a 10% increase over 20211. While new car sales decreased in 2022 compared to 2021, SUVs outperformed the market due to increasing variety and manufacturer investment in the segment. Meanwhile, 1.3 million EVs were registered in Europe in 20222. EV market share in Europe is now 12%, compared to 9% in 20213

Ultra-high performance by every metric

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6’s low rolling resistance and high load rating makes it ideal not only for passengers cars but also for modern SUVs and electric vehicles, which demand more from a tire to maximise range and efficiency. Its EV-ready construction also features a noise-cancelling pattern which reduces road noise by 1 dB4 .

Goodyear’s Dry Stability Plus Technology is present in the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6. The tire adapts to the road surface and always delivers the optimal amount of grip, traction and stability. In wet conditions, the tire features an advanced resin for optimal road contact, giving the tire excellent wet grip.

Award-winning across Europe

In its first year on the market, the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 won multiple European tire tests. Auto Motor und Sport declared it “outstanding”, while Auto Bild and Tyre Reviews each ranked it first compared to other tested brands5

Auto Bild concluded that the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 is “a top tire with balanced performance at the highest level, good aquaplaning reserves, short braking distances, precise handling behaviour, low rolling resistance.”6

Sonia Leneveu, Director Marketing Consumer Europe, Goodyear: “Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 now delivers a premium tire to a larger proportion of the market. With its enhanced performance and EV-ready capability, we look forward to the next chapter in the product life cycle. The European market share of EVs and SUVs has prompted the supply of a greater variety of sizes to fit the diverse market. We recommend the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 for most modern applications as it provides excellent handling and efficiency.”
