Third victory for Peter Hickman on Dunlop Tyres

  • A dominant Peter Hickman wins for the third time

  • Dunlop technology contributes to rider success

Peter Hickman dominated the Superstock TT race from the very beginning, having already won two races this week, his pursuit for a third victory looked inevitable.

On board the Smiths Racing BMW bike, the Burton upon Trent born rider became a five-time TT win with an impressive performance finishing 26 seconds clear of Dean Harrison.

Peter Hickman describes his continuing dominance on the mountain section: “It seems to be the same old story at the moment, I click with it and hit all the markers where I think they should be and pull a big gap over the mountain so makes life a lot easier.”

Third place came down to the wire with David Johnson chasing Michael Dunlop right to the line, finishing 0.2 secs ahead.

Riding for the Honda Racing team, Johnson closed down Dunlop in the latter stages to secure his first Isle of Man TT podium.

Johnson said: “Over the mountain on the last lap it's probably the best I've ever gone over there on the superstock, but that last sector was something else, I was putting everything into it.”

Hickman’s opening lap was particularly impressive, with an average lap speed of 132.02mph which included a standing start and slowing down for a pit stop highlighting a truly outstanding ride.

The recent launch of the road-legal D213 GP Pro has helped Dunlop riders with high speed and braking stability. Its distinctive cutting-edge fin-shaped pattern ensures faster warm-up times, allowing the riders to push with confidence from earlier in the lap. The warmer conditions from the morning helped the tyres grip and give the riders even more confidence.
