From tire management on the banks of Darlington Raceway for NASCAR, to the consistency needed from g-loads of sports cars with elevation changes of Austin, the strategy and craftiness of touring cars to the brute force of 11,000 horsepower dragsters, Goodyear technology is being pushed to its limits - the only way to learn so we can create the best street tires on the market.

Did someone say horsepower?

The demands placed on a racing tire vary dramatically between each championship. For Goodyear, that means understanding what being fast looks like in every environment and developing Eagle tires - that can meet each challenge.

It is the idea at the heart of Goodyear's global Fast Is In Us campaign, which celebrates the Eagle performance tire family and its more than four decades of credibility in performance - and how that spirit is found in the construction of every single Goodyear Eagle performance tire.

In NASCAR, fast is in the turns. Darlington Raceway’s high speeds, rough surface and egg-shaped, high-banked oval layout make it a demanding test for Goodyear Racing Eagle tires, and drivers and teams will need to be perfect - from managing tire wear to race strategy and pitstops - to reach Victory Lane.

In the British Touring Car Championship, fast is in the battle. Goodyear Racing provides teams with a choice of up to three different compounds, which can be deployed across practice, qualifying and the three championship races. The choice of compound allows teams another layer of strategy to a series where drivers fight for position throughout the field.

At Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, it’s a different set of challenges. Fast is in the launch. The U.S. Nationals is NHRA's flagship event, where performance begins from a standing start and the ability for Goodyear Eagle tires to transfer 11,000+ horsepower into forward motion from the moment the lights go green, before carrying that performance through the rest of the run at over 340 mph. The force, technology and grip are unparalleled in racing today - akin to a land-bound rocketship!

And at Circuit of The Americas, fast is in the consistency. During the six-hour Lone Star Le Mans, every production-based sports car in the LMGT3 category will compete on Goodyear Racing Eagle Medium tires, with drivers able to cover more than 300 gruelling competition miles on a single set. This compound has proven its performance since LMGT3 joined the FIA WEC package in 2024 and has been thoroughly tested and has endured vastly different tracks, supporting front-, mid-, and rear-engined cars, and meeting the demands of both professional and amateur drivers.

The Eagle Medium's broad operating window and proven consistency across a wide range of temperatures and conditions make it well suited to the demands of COTA, a circuit known for both its high-speed corners and abrasive surface.

The choice of the Eagle Medium represents a change from last year, when Goodyear nominated its Eagle Hard compound for the Lone Star Le Mans.

LMGT3 drivers face one of the most varied and technically demanding circuits on the calendar this weekend. Like Interlagos last time out, COTA is an anti-clockwise track. It is famed for its dramatic 135-foot climb into Turn 1, followed by a sequence of sweeping, fast corners. The lap ends with a series of complex technical corners, requiring a perfect blend of agility and driving skill.

One key storyline heading into the weekend is the #33 Corvette, which arrives in Austin atop the LMGT3 standings. The program is run by the UK-based TF Sport team, but Lone Star Le Mans represents a home event for the iconic American brand.

High track and ambient temperatures, combined with the circuit’s abrasive surface, are expected to make tire management an influential factor in Sunday’s race. Goodyear anticipates teams will favour single-stint strategies, maximising performance from each set of tires rather than pursuing multi-stint strategies.

“Lone Star Le Mans is always one of the toughest races of the season for tires,” said Stephen Bickley, Goodyear Endurance Program Manager. “We expect very high temperatures which, combined with the abrasive surface, places huge demands on drivers and tires alike. Goodyear Racing Eagle Medium tires are built to last the equivalent of more than two F1 Grands Prix across a wide range of temperatures, so we are confident that they will deliver excellent performance.

“With the expected degradation, single stints are the most likely strategy, although some teams may try to double-stint left-side tires depending on how they choose to manage the degradation over six hours.”

Teams also have access to the Goodyear Racing Eagle Wet tire in case of inclement weather. This wet weather tire is visible by its blue sidewall stickers, and has a tread pattern designed to disperse surface water.

Bickley added: “Last year's Lone Star Le Mans proved just how unpredictable weather can be at COTA, with changing conditions leading to a dramatic rain-affected race finish. The #95 United Autosports McLaren team claimed its maiden LMGT3 victory on Goodyear Racing Eagle slick tires, making the most of a drying track and making up time against other teams that had opted for wets.”

Goodyear Racing Eagle tires are also in action this weekend in the NASCAR races at Darlington Raceway, in the NHRA U.S. Nationals at Indianapolis Raceway Park, and in the British Touring Car Championship at Croft Circuit.

Spa-Francorchamps presents one of the calendar’s toughest technical challenges for both drivers and tires. Its combination of high-speed corners and considerable elevation changes places sustained loads on tires throughout the lap, with the compression through Eau Rouge and Raidillon generating some of the highest vertical loads of the season.

LMGT3 teams will compete at Spa on the Goodyear Racing Eagle Medium compound, which offers the versatility to perform across a wide range of conditions and meet the demands of drivers of varying styles and experience levels. The tire has already been used at Le Castellet and Imola this season, while teams also contesting the FIA World Endurance Championship will have additional experience from May's 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps.

LMP2 and LMP2 Pro/Am competitors will race on their own Goodyear Racing Eagle Medium, the category’s standard specification since its introduction at Le Castellet last season. This compound has now been used extensively in the European Le Mans Series and at the past two editions of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, giving teams an extensive understanding of its performance characteristics.

That familiarity is expected to shape race strategy this weekend. Goodyear expects broadly consistent strategies across both categories, with LMGT3 teams likely to maximise performance by fitting fresh tires at each stop, while LMP2 teams could opt for slightly greater strategic variation through double-stinting or split tire changes.

Across all three classes, championship battles are beginning to take shape as the season surpasses its halfway point. Only one point separates the #33 TF Sport Corvette and #75 Proton Competition Porsche teams atop the LMGT3 standings, while the #22 United Autosports outfit leads #29 Forester Racing by Panis by six points in the LMP2 standings. Algarve Pro Racing's #20 car leads the LMP2 Pro/Am classification as it returns to the circuit where the team claimed victory in class last season.

“Spa-Francorchamps is a circuit that teams know well, and each category has built a strong understanding of their Goodyear Racing Eagle Medium tires,” said Stephen Bickley, Goodyear Endurance Program Manager. “That means we expect strategies to be fairly uniform across the field, with teams likely to focus on maximising performance with fresh tires at each stop. LMP2 could offer a little more variation depending on how teams choose to manage the race.”

Spa’s location in the Ardennes means conditions can be highly variable. In addition to the slick tires used in dry conditions, teams will also have access to the Goodyear Racing Eagle Wet tire, featuring a tread pattern designed to disperse surface water and provide grip in wet conditions.

“The circuit places high loads on tires, particularly through Eau Rouge and Raidillon, and with slightly warmer conditions than we saw here in May, we could see a little more degradation if it stays dry,” Bickley added. “If conditions do turn wet, teams can rely on the Goodyear Racing Eagle Wet tire as a proven solution.”

Goodyear Racing Eagle tires are also in action this weekend across the Atlantic in the NASCAR races at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, and in the NHRA Brainerd Nationals at Brainerd International Raceway.

Dagna, who won the FIM Youth Enduro World Championship with Dunlop last year, stepped up to the Junior category in 2026. He secured the FIM Junior 2 Enduro World Cup title in the final round in Wales last weekend, capping an impressive season that included clean sweeps in Italy and Spain. His results also placed him third in the overall Junior Enduro World Championship standings.

Fellow Dunlop rider Cagnoni also ended the season on the championship podium, placing third in the Youth category. The 20-year-old Italian enjoyed a consistent season that included a stage win in France.

Both riders chose Dunlop Geomax EN92 for their championship campaigns. The latest generation of Dunlop’s enduro tire range is designed to provide grip, compliance and traction across the wide spectrum of conditions and surfaces encountered in enduro racing.

Dunlop Geomax TL01 will now come as standard on Beta’s Evo and Sincro trial models, replacing Dunlop’s D803GP as the OE fitment of choice. Geomax TL01, Dunlop’s ultra-sticky trial tire, features a high-adhesion compound and block design specifically engineered to maintain the desired shape on angled surfaces¹. Already trusted by many Beta riders in competition, it will now be fitted as standard across Beta’s Sincro and Evo models.

"Geomax TL01 represents a significant step forward in performance, which is why we decided to adopt it as our original equipment trial tire," said Donato Miglio, Race Team Manager Trial, Beta Motorcycles. "Many of our riders already use it in competition, where it has proven its exceptional grip, stability and handling.”

In the motocross segment, Beta has selected Dunlop Geomax MX34 as standard across its RX range, including the two-stroke 250cc and 350cc and four-stroke 250cc and 450cc models. Geomax MX34 is Dunlop’s intermediate-terrain motocross tire, but its versatility makes it ideal for everything from soft mud to packed soil.

From city commuters to high-powered EVs and SUVs, Europe’s vehicle landscape is evolving fast. With UltraGrip Performance 3, Goodyear is setting a new benchmark for how widely a single winter tire pattern can serve this changing market.

Goodyear now delivers the widest coverage available through one tread pattern.² While other brands either offer more limited fitment ranges or rely on multiple patterns to achieve similar coverage, Goodyear does it differently: one design, 344 SKUs, and a fitment reach that continues to grow. The 66 new SKUs represent entirely new fitments for Goodyear, enabling the brand to serve vehicles previously unreached and helping customers and drivers find the right tire more easily.

Notably, over 90% of these new SKUs are in 19-inch and above dimensions, reflecting the continued market growth in larger rim sizes. The expanded range spans 14" to 23", ensuring fitment across Europe’s evolving car parc while also better supporting vehicles with mixed fitments.

The expansion also reinforces Goodyear’s presence across both replacement and original equipment, with 59 replacement SKUs and 7 OE fitments added. The latest additions to Avon’s extensive product offering help to better match today’s market requirements by increasing coverage across diverse model ranges, from older sports bikes to popular cruisers and small to medium displacement models from emerging brands.

The Cobra Chrome range sees the largest expansion, with seven new specifications released. Four existing sizes have been upgraded with an increase in load and speed ratings, or have undergone a change in construction from bias to bias belted. This allows many additional cruiser enthusiasts to fit Cobra Chrome on their bikes, enabling them to experience the tire’s high stability and excellent wet braking. Three all-new sizes are also included in this latest line extension, extending the Cobra Chrome fitment coverage across bikes such as the Harley-Davidson Fat Boy, Sport Glide, Low Rider S and ST, as well as the current-generation Honda GL1800 Gold Wing series.

The launch of the new Spirit ST sizes (110/70ZR17 front and 150/60ZR17 rear) caters to a range of popular small to medium displacement models that have been released over the last decade. Such models prevail among younger riders who rely on their bike as their sole vehicle, and the Spirit ST’s state of the art tread compound and high mileage serves as an excellent choice for this segment.

Two new sizes also join the 3D Supersport offering, with the arrival of the 120/60ZR17 front and 190/50ZR17 rear allowing owners of older sports bikes and roadsters and riders of current-model Japanese sport-tourers to take advantage of the tire’s optimized handling and maximized grip.

The choice of the Eagle Medium represents a change from last year, when Goodyear introduced its Eagle Hard compound at Interlagos.

Despite being the championship's shortest circuit, Interlagos’ anti-clockwise layout with a combination of long corners, sweeping elevation changes and heavy braking zones places sustained loads through the tires over a lap. The circuit's left hand bias places particular strain on the rear-right tire, as the track’s twisting infield corner sequences leave little opportunity for tires to cool.

Goodyear expects that this year’s race will therefore reward a direct strategy with a focus on single stints, as teams are likely to prioritise extracting maximum performance from each set of tires rather than pursuing multi-stint strategies.

"We expect to see relatively little variation in strategy this weekend,” said Stephen Bickley, Goodyear Endurance Program Manager. “The nature of the circuit means degradation is higher, so teams will use their increased allocations to focus on extracting maximum performance, likely equipping new tires at each stop.

“Teams could look at double stinting the unloaded left side of the car and may extend stints under safety car or full course yellow conditions, but we expect to see consistent strategies down the pit lane.”

Interlagos is known for its changing weather conditions, with rain showers capable of affecting different parts of the circuit at different times. In addition to the slick tires used in dry conditions, teams will also have access to the Goodyear Racing Eagle Wet tire, featuring a tread pattern designed to disperse surface water and provide grip in wet conditions.

"We have a very good understanding of the Goodyear Racing Eagle Medium at Interlagos," Bickley added. “We raced on this tire at Interlagos two years ago and it performed consistently across varying track temperatures and mixed weather conditions. This is the right compound for us to bring this weekend.”

Goodyear Racing Eagle tires are also in action this weekend in the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series races at EchoPark Speedway, and in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Lime Rock Park.

Goodyear Racing has been awarded a renewed three-star rating in 2026, the highest level of recognition within the FIA’s Environmental Accreditation Programme, reflecting best-practice environmental management across its racing operations.

The Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) is the governing body for world motor sport and the federation for mobility organisations globally. Its Environmental Accreditation Programme (EAP) provides a structured framework for motor sport and mobility organisations to measure, manage and improve their environmental performance. Accreditation is awarded across three levels, with the three-star rating representing the highest standard of recognition.

The renewal comes after a significant acceleration of Goodyear’s sustainability initiatives across all levels of its racing operations - from manufacturing and product innovation to trackside practices and logistics - demonstrating measurable progress and long-term commitment.

The FIA’s assessment highlighted that “the evidence submitted demonstrates strong top-management commitment to environmental sustainability, supported by a well-structured and well-integrated Environmental Management System (EMS). The system is deeply embedded in the company’s operations, ensuring effective implementation and continual improvement.”

This recognition confirms that sustainability is a strategic priority for Goodyear Racing, with a fully integrated approach embedded across its organization.

Driving sustainability from factory to racetrack

The accreditation covers Goodyear Racing EMEA’s motorsport programmes, including its activities as the official tire supplier for the FIA World Endurance Championship, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the European Le Mans Series and the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship.                          

Across its operations, Goodyear continues to implement initiatives designed to help reduce environmental impact, including:

• Operating manufacturing facilities in Hanau (Germany) and Colmar-Berg (Luxembourg) powered by 100% renewable electricity procured or from on-site solar installations, alongside all Goodyear EMEA manufacturing sites
• Maintaining internationally recognized standards such as ISO 14001, ISO 50001, ISO 45001, and ISCC PLUS certification in all EMEA facilities where the Goodyear Racing tires are produced
• Reducing resource consumption and logistics impact through single-specification tire strategies in endurance racing
• Increased virtual development and advanced simulation
• Extending tire life cycles through retreading practices in truck racing and ensuring recycling or energy recovery of the end-of-life tires via our take-back system and Zero Waste to landfill management.

These actions contribute to Goodyear’s long-term sustainability ambitions, including transitioning to 100% renewable energy in manufacturing by 2040, and achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain by 2050.

Setting a new benchmark with next-generation racing tires

Further reinforcing this progress, Goodyear recently introduced the 2027 generation of EAGLE racing tires for FIA WEC LMGT3, combining enhanced on-track performance with a 66% sustainable materials content¹ - setting a new benchmark in endurance racing². This progress extends beyond GT racing: in the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship, a new tire specification has also been introduced featuring up to 60% sustainable materials. 

Goodyear was first awarded the FIA’s three-star environmental accreditation in 2024. These latest advancements demonstrate Goodyear’s strategy of leveraging motorsport as a platform to accelerate innovation and advance sustainable solutions for both racing and road applications.

Goodyear today announced the extension of its partnership with the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO), confirming it will remain the exclusive tire supplier for the LMP2 and LMGT3 categories in the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) through 2029. 

The agreement reinforces Goodyear’s long-term commitment to endurance racing and its central role within the sport’s ecosystem, supporting two of its most competitive and strategically important categories. 

LMP2 continues to represent the cornerstone of endurance racing, combining high performance, accessibility and driver engagement, while LMGT3 serves as a key global platform aligned with the future of GT racing. Together, they form a critical part of the endurance racing pyramid across ELMS, FIA WEC and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. 

Through this renewed partnership, Goodyear will continue to deliver advanced tire solutions that combine performance, consistency and increasing levels of sustainability, while supporting cost control and close competition across the grid. 

LMP2: Setting new standards in performance and consistency 

Goodyear continues to push the boundaries of performance in LMP2, building on a category that remains at the heart of endurance racing. 

The recent introduction of Goodyear’s latest slick tire specification has already set new benchmarks in consistency and durability. At the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the tire demonstrated outstanding performance, completing five consecutive stints - covering close to 700 kilometres - while maintaining competitive pace and degradation control. 

This level of consistency is critical in endurance racing, enabling teams to optimize strategy, reduce pit stops and maximize track performance. 

As LMP2 prepares for its next generation from 2028, with a continued focus on performance parity, cost control and enhanced safety, Goodyear remains fully aligned with the category’s evolution and long-term future. 

LMGT3: Advancing sustainability without compromising performance 

In LMGT3, Goodyear is supporting the category’s global growth through the introduction of a new tire specification, now also deployed in the FIA World Endurance Championship. 

The latest specification incorporates up to 66% sustainable materials¹, marking a significant step forward in Goodyear’s ambition to increase the share of renewable and recycled content in racing tires. 

Crucially, this progress comes without compromising performance, delivering the consistency, grip and durability required at the highest level of GT racing.

The race marks the first outing for many European Le Mans Series teams since last month’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, where Goodyear supplied 44 cars on the grid in its largest-ever endurance racing operation.

Every team in the LMGT3, LMP2 and LMP2 Pro/Am categories will run their respective Goodyear Racing Eagle Medium tires this weekend, at a track which offers a contrasting challenge to many of the more demanding circuits on the calendar. Its smooth surface and flowing layout places lower stress on tires, reducing overall tire degradation and emphasising strategy over the four hour race.

Goodyear therefore expects teams to explore a variety of strategies this weekend, weighing the time saved in the pit lane by extending stints against the potential performance gains of equipping new Goodyear Racing Eagle tires more frequently.

“Imola is one of the tracks where tire strategy can have a significant influence on the outcome of the race,” explained Stephen Bickley, Goodyear Endurance Program Manager. “Earlier this year in the FIA World Endurance Championship round, differing tire strategies played a decisive role in shaping the race. Some teams minimised time in the pit lane through multi-stinting tires, while others opted to fit fresher tires more frequently.

“The allocations in the European Le Mans Series mean teams do not have to multi-stint tires, but the sheer versatility of the Eagle Mediums means they may choose to. We know they can: at Le Mans, many LMGT3 teams completed four stints on a single set of tires, while LMP2 competitors achieved five stints.”

In addition to the slick tires used in dry conditions, teams will also have access to a Goodyear Racing Eagle Wet tire. These wet-weather tires feature a tread pattern designed to disperse surface water and provide grip in wet conditions.

Goodyear Racing Eagle tires are also in action this weekend across the Atlantic in the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series races at Chicagoland Speedway.

The event will be held in the Alentejo region of Portugal between 12-17th October, welcoming close to 500 enduro riders from more than 30 nations on 5 continents. This year marks the 100th anniversary edition of the event, and Dunlop Motorcycle Europe ‘s sixth year as an official partner. 

As well as being an official event partner, Dunlop Motorcycle Europe will also host the Dunlop Geomax Challenge, which supports club and amateur riders competing in the Club Team Award category of the competition who choose to race with Dunlop Geomax EN92 tires. All participants in the Dunlop Geomax Challenge will receive an official Dunlop rider kit and branded challenge sticker. The top-performing riders will be honoured during the 6DAYS official podium ceremony on the sixth and final day of the race. 

The riders who place in the top three positions will be awarded a specially designed trophy and a Dunlop podium cap. In addition to this, the first-place winner will receive a premium Dunlop Sparco Racing Seat and an exclusive VIP MXGP pass. The second-place prize includes a Dunlop paddock tent, while the third-place finisher will take home a Ogio backpack.

That consistency allowed teams to maximize every set of tires, saving time in fuel stops without compromising on pace. Many LMGT3 teams ran four stints (40 laps) before changing tires while LMP2 teams were able to race a set for five stints. One LMP2 team kept a single set of tires for as many as 56 laps or 761 km (473 miles) - approximately the distance from Le Mans to Monaco or from Goodyear’s home in Akron, Ohio, to Charlotte, North Carolina.

Even with the tires running so many laps, there was no let up on pace. The fastest 100-lap average pace recorded by an LMGT3 car was 1.2 seconds per lap quicker than in last year’s race, making this the fastest Le Mans of the LMGT3 era.

Supplying almost three-quarters of the Le Mans grid requires a massive operation: more than 120 experts and 8,000 tires kept the on-track activity running all week and through the night. 

The Goodyear presence around Circuit de la Sarthe was stronger than ever thanks to the Goodyear Blimp, new-look Goodyear Grandstand, hugely popular fan village activation, collaboration with the renovated M24 Motorsport Museum and the introduction of the Goodyear Passerelle. 

“When you look at the distances covered without compromising on pace, it underlines the consistency and reliability of our Goodyear Racing Eagle tires throughout one of the toughest races in the world,” said Stephen Bickley, Goodyear Endurance Program Manager. “It was a special Le Mans for us, felt through our fan activation, partnership renewal and icons old and new at - and above - the circuit.”

Ahead of the race, Goodyear reconfirmed its commitment to LMGT3 in a joint announcement with the FIA and the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO). In 2027, Goodyear will enter its fourth season as the exclusive tire supplier to the category with a new tire made up of 66% sustainable materials¹. 

The FIA World Endurance Championship now turns its attention to the 6 Hours of São Paulo on 12 July but many Le Mans teams will be in action one week sooner at the European Le Mans Series’ 4 Hours of Imola on 5 July. 

Goodyear Racing Eagles are also in action this weekend in the NASCAR races at Pocono Raceway and in the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway.

Next-Generation of Goodyear Eagle combines performance consistency with industry-leading sustainable materials content 

The refreshed range will continue Goodyear’s current single-specification philosophy, with one Goodyear Racing Eagle Medium slick and one Wet tire developed around three key priorities: instant confidence, a wide operating window and an enhanced range of sustainable materials. 

Both the slick and wet compounds will contain 66% sustainable materials², making them the tires with highest sustainable content in top-level endurance racing and establishing Goodyear as a global leader in sustainable motorsport tire technology. 

The new compounds combine recycled and bio-based materials¹ including recycled steel, rice husk silica, recycled zinc oxide, and ISCC-certified polymers and carbon black, with bio-based processing aids and sustainable natural rubber. The tires will also debut newly designed Eagle-branded sidewalls, bringing Goodyear’s unmistakable Eagle performance identity even more prominently to the track. 

Goodyear has enjoyed three triumphant seasons since the LMGT3 category was introduced in 2024, with its current Goodyear Racing Eagle products becoming renowned for their performance, consistency and broad operating window across changing conditions. 

“Developing a tire capable of performing across vastly different circuits, supporting front-, mid-, and rear-engined cars, and meeting the demands of both professional and amateur drivers, is no small feat,” said Fraipont.

That philosophy remained central throughout the development process, with Goodyear pushing the boundaries of performance while delivering a tire that inspires confidence from the very first lap, adapts seamlessly to evolving track and weather conditions, and enables teams to execute more dynamic race strategies. 

Fraipont added: “At Spa this year, we witnessed the fastest LMGT3 race ever recorded at the circuit. At Le Mans, we expect some teams to complete up to four stints (around 600 km) on a single set of tires. This highlights the remarkable breadth and consistency of performance we are now delivering. 

“With this new generation of Goodyear Racing Eagle tires, we continue to advance performance at the highest level. While speed is part of our DNA, endurance racing demands a broader capability combining durability, consistency and adaptability. This is where our focus is fully directed. But this milestone is only one step in a much longer journey. We are already challenging ourselves to go further and move faster. This is not about reaching a specific percentage. It is about redefining what high-performance racing should look like in a more responsible era. Goodyear is already developing the future of Eagle tires with 80% sustainable material-content, which we intend to showcase on track later this year. 

“More than a technological achievement, this represents a clear statement of intent: demonstrating that sustainability and uncompromising performance can progress together - and that Goodyear is ready to lead this transformation alongside its partners” concluded Fraipont.

At Le Mans, all 25 LMGT3 cars will run the proven Goodyear Racing Eagle Medium compound alongside an Eagle wet-weather tire designed to deliver maximum performance across the full range of conditions the Circuit de la Sarthe can produce over 24 hours.

For the 19 LMP2 teams entered, featuring elite outfits from endurance racing series such as the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) as well as equivalent championships in North America and Asia, competitors will have access to Goodyear Racing’s latest Eagle Medium slick specification. This tire was first introduced at last season’s 4 Hours of Le Castellet and made its impressive debut at the Circuit de la Sarthe the following month.

Across both intensely competitive categories, Goodyear expects tire performance and longevity to once again play a crucial role in determining race strategies, with some drivers likely to be able to complete up to four consecutive stints on a single set of its slick tires. That is enough distance to cover the equivalent of two Formula 1 Grands Prix races.

Le Mans regulations prevent any driver from racing for more than four hours continuously, which for LMGT3 and LMP2 competitors usually equates to up to 44 laps or 600 kilometres of running. In dry conditions during last year’s event, teams in both categories managed to complete stints exceeding that distance - matching the maximum permitted driving time - on a single set of tires. This longevity is at the heart of Goodyear’s endurance racing strategy, providing tires that maintain their performance level over an extended period of time.

“Le Mans presents challenges unlike anything else in endurance racing because conditions constantly change across the 24 hours,” said Stephen Bickley, Goodyear Endurance Programme Manager. “Teams often face huge swings in track and ambient temperatures between day and night, while safety cars and slow zones can cool tires before drivers are thrown straight back into racing speeds.

“Our Goodyear Racing Eagle Medium compounds have been developed to have a very wide operating window, giving drivers of varying ability levels confidence throughout the race and across changing conditions. This year we could see teams running up to four consecutive stints on a single set of tires, meaning our tires will be able to last longer than the regulations allow drivers to stay in the car.”

Supplying nearly three-quarters of the Le Mans grid demands Goodyear’s largest ever endurance racing operation. In total, Goodyear will bring more than 7,000 tires to the circuit, backed by more than 100 experts including tire fitters, engineers, technical support personnel and marketing staff. Each team is assigned a dedicated Goodyear track support engineer throughout the event for tire preparation, setup direction, and strategy and performance analysis.

The iconic Goodyear Blimp will also soar over the Circuit de la Sarthe, offering invited guests, media and partners the opportunity to experience the Le Mans spectacle from above. At ground level, Goodyear’s fan zone will immerse thousands of spectators in the brand’s racing world, with prizes, merchandise and experiences that showcase how Goodyear’s racing programmes contribute to the development of its ultra ultra high performance Eagle tire range.

Bickley adds: “Goodyear is proud to be an intrinsic part of one of motorsport’s true jewels in the crown. We always aim to put on a show for fans both on and off-track, and the extreme challenges of Le Mans provide a true opportunity for Goodyear to demonstrate its technology and expertise to a global audience.”

Across the Atlantic, Goodyear Racing Eagle tires are also in action this weekend in the NASCAR races at Pocono Raceway, and in the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway.

Vector All Season 4 was developed by over 70 engineers across four years, united by a single non‑negotiable goal: build an all‑season tire with no weaknesses. That clarity changed everything.

Core performance targets were achieved early in development, freeing engineers to spend nearly 75 percent of total R&D time on refinement, where marginal gains become meaningful advantages. Close to 50 individual performance KPIs were sharpened across dry, wet, snow, and ice handling, efficiency, mileage, noise, and comfort, all tested across a wide range of temperatures and real‑world surfaces.

Crucially, long‑accepted all‑season “trade‑offs” were not treated as inevitable. Wet braking versus mileage. Dry grip versus aquaplaning and fuel efficiency. Snow traction versus noise. These tensions weren’t managed in isolation. They were engineered together as one integrated system as drivers don’t wish to accept any compromises during their drive and balance is essential across the tire.

The outcome is holistic performance, with progress in in all principal disciplines achieved without paying for it elsewhere.

For the 2026 season, Goodyear will introduce a new truck racing tire incorporating 60% sustainable materials¹, up from 55% in the previous season. This reflects Goodyear’s ongoing commitment with the FIA to improve tire sustainability year after year in top‑level truck racing. Based on Goodyear’s internal sustainability classification framework, a tire incorporating 60% or more sustainable materials is assigned a two-leaf rating (with one leaf assigned to tires below this threshold).

In addition to this technical development, Goodyear will introduce the Wingfoot Award in the Goodyear FIA ETRC. One Wingfoot Award will be presented at each race event during the 2026 season. The award will recognize a driver selected by fans. The Wingfoot Award is designed to further engage fans throughout the season while highlighting performances and moments that reflect the values of the championship.

The significantly expanded Blue Streak range now supports an even broader spectrum of 1950s-1970s formula, touring and sports racing cars, further cementing Goodyear’s presence across the most celebrated eras of motorsport history.

Recent additions include:

• Tires for pre-war and vintage-era racers, allowing icons such as Bentley, ERA and Alfa Romeo machines from the 1920s and 1930s to compete with authentic period-correct performance.

161 cars are on the entry list in the biggest edition of one of the world’s toughest endurance races in over a decade. Teams in many categories in the Nürburgring 24 Hours have free choice of tires. On a 25 km track with 170 turns and ever-changing weather conditions, they know that choosing the right tire is paramount. With Goodyear tires selected by 50 teams in a field that includes ten tire manufacturers, leading factory operations and recent class winners have made their choice clear.

Goodyear will support seven cars going for outright victory in the SP9 category for GT3 cars. These include the two Porsche 911 GT3 Rs of leading GT team Black Falcon, a factory-backed Mercedes-AMG GT3 run by PROsport racing and that team’s Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3. SR Motorsport has also chosen Goodyear for its Mercedes-AMG, along with the two Audi R8 LMS GT3s run by KKrämer Racing and JUTA Racing.

With class wins for SR Motorsport (Pro-Am) and Black Falcon (Am) in the recent qualifying race, Goodyear arrives at the 24 Hours on winning form.

Away from GT3 machinery, Hyundai has selected Goodyear tires for its three factory touring car entries: an Elantra N TCR to defend its five-year class winning streak and two new Elantra N1 RP models using a pre-production engine. Projects like this underline the race’s unique position for testing future technology.

Goodyear is also the exclusive tire supplier to many touring car classes, including TCR and the BMW-backed categories each for the M2 Racing, M240i Racing Cup and 325i Challenge.

Goodyear has a long-standing history of developing tires that can tame the Nürburgring Nordschleife. It has been five decades since the 1976 German Grand Prix, the last to be held on the full track before it was deemed too dangerous for Formula 1, when Goodyear tires took James Hunt’s McLaren to victory in one of F1’s most famous races.

These days, the Nordschleife is trusted to develop the world’s fastest road cars and Goodyear uses its development centre at the track in partnership with OEMs to test its high-performance road and track tires, such as the Eagle F1 SuperSport RS.

“The Nürburgring 24 Hours is one of the most gruelling endurance races in the world and a larger field this year means even more competition,” said Sebastian Trinks, Goodyear sales account manager. “One thing that makes this race so fascinating is that it remains one of the few remaining events where teams have free choice of tires. The Nürburgring 24 Hours gets underway at 15:00 CEST on Saturday, 16 May. Goodyear Racing Eagle tires are also in action in the U.S. this weekend in the NASCAR races at Dover Motor Speedway in Delaware and the NHRA Route 66 Nationals in Illinois.

Goodyear will supply all teams with race tires, ensuring a level playing field across the grid while meeting the highest standards of safety and performance.

The partnership continues a long-standing relationship between Goodyear and ETRA Promotion GmbH. Goodyear has been the exclusive tire supplier to the Goodyear FIA ETRC (European Truck Racing Championship) for more than 20 years and has played a key role in developing modern truck racing tires.

In 2025, Goodyear introduced a new truck racing tire made from 55% sustainable materials — a significant step towards more sustainable motorsport. The development reflects a broader ambition to deliver high-performance solutions that meet both the demands of racing and growing environmental expectations.

Goodyear is also advancing circular-economy initiatives, with used racing tires retreaded in its factory in Germany and repurposed for commercial transport applications, helping to reduce waste and maximize resource efficiency.

The TGP Championship will make its debut in May 2026, bringing truck racing to Germany’s major circuits with events at the Hockenheimring, Lausitzring and Nürburgring.

Spa-Francorchamps’ high-speed layout, long straights and sweeping elevation changes create significant tire degradation over a lap, which today encouraged teams towards largely aligned race strategies focused on outright performance. 

All LMGT3 entrants therefore opted for single-stint strategies throughout the race, maximising pace from each set of their Goodyear Racing Eagle Medium tires.

“The race unfolded very much as we expected from a tire strategy perspective,” explained Stephen Bickley, Goodyear Endurance Programme Manager. “Teams focused on extracting maximum performance and chose to fit new tires at each stop due to the aggressive degradation characteristics typical of this circuit.

“That contributed to the fastest LMGT3 race we have seen at Spa since LMGT3 joined the FIA WEC package in 2024. This year’s race produced average lap times around half a second quicker than last season. Across a typical 25-lap stint, that equates to a gain of approximately 12 seconds compared to last season.

“The sheer versatility of the Goodyear Racing Eagle Medium meant teams did have the option of extending stints when neutralisations came into play, but most opted not to in favour of outright performance. That is the strength of the Goodyear Racing Eagle Medium: it allows teams to either multi-stint with confidence or extract maximum pace from the tires.”

Beyond its performance on track, Goodyear also took the spotlight at Spa‑Francorchamps with a dedicated activation aimed at promoting a Better Future.

Goodyear assessed over 6905 tires, identifying actionable recommendations on 4.8% of those inspected. In addition, to support a more informed approach to tire maintenance, Goodyear estimates that up to 1,4 tons of CO₂ emissions could be avoided following the correct inflation and calibration of tires identified as under‑inflated via the CheckPoint installation*.

The FIA World Endurance Championship now turns its attention to the 24 Hours of Le Mans on 10-14 June, where Goodyear Racing Eagle tires will once again equip every car in both the LMGT3 and LMP2 classes.

Goodyear Racing Eagle tires are also in action this weekend in the NASCAR races at Watkins Glen International, and in the British Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch.

Spa-Francorchamps presents a very different challenge to Imola, with its high-speed layout, long straights and sweeping elevation changes placing sustained loads on the tires across the lap, particularly through the compression at Eau Rouge. This makes it one of the most aggressive tracks for tire degradation, with a more pronounced performance drop-off expected over a stint.

That characteristic is expected to shape race strategy this weekend. Differing tire strategies played a decisive role in shaping the race at Imola, but Spa is expected to reward a more direct strategy with a focus on single stints as teams are likely to prioritize extracting maximum performance from each set of tires.

“We expect to see less variation in race strategies at Spa,” said Stephen Bickley, Goodyear Endurance Program Manager. “The nature of the circuit means degradation is higher, so teams will focus on extracting maximum performance and are likely to equip new tires at each stop.

“There is no left-right bias at Spa, and the load profile doesn’t lend itself to changing only front or rear tires, so teams may still look to extend stints under safety car or full course yellow conditions, but we expect to see the baseline strategy being more consistent.”

Spa’s location in the Ardennes means conditions can be highly variable. In addition to the slick tires used in dry conditions, teams will also have access to the Goodyear Racing Eagle Wet tire, featuring a tread pattern designed to disperse surface water and provide grip in wet conditions.

“The Goodyear Racing Eagle Medium tire has proven it can perform at a range of tracks, support front, mid and rear-engined cars, and deliver what both professional and amateur drivers in this pro-am class want,” Bickley added. “At Imola, tire temperature management was never a concern for LMGT3 teams, even on such a demanding and unpredictable track. Should conditions turn wet at Spa, teams can rely on the Goodyear Racing Eagle Wet tire as a proven and effective solution.”

Circuit Paul Ricard presents a technically demanding challenge for drivers. Its long, high-speed layout, dominated by the Mistral Straight, subjects tires to sustained loads throughout the lap. The track’s abrasive surface, elevation changes and often unpredictable winds further combine to challenge driver consistency and tire management across a stint.

LMGT3 teams will run the Goodyear Racing Eagle Medium compound for the first time this season, following the use of the Eagle Hard specification at the season-opening 4 Hours of Barcelona. Goodyear expects this change to present teams with a key decision: whether to double-stint tires, or prioritise outright performance with more frequent changes.

“We’ve seen teams double-stint at Paul Ricard in previous years, even when regulations didn’t require it,” said Stephen Bickley, Goodyear Endurance Programme Manager. “While teams can change tires at every stop, the Eagle Medium’s flexibility opens the door to a wide range of strategies. Some may push the limits of their tires, particularly if conditions allow stints to be extended, while others may focus on maximising single-stint performance.”

In LMP2, teams will compete on Goodyear Racing’s latest Eagle Medium slick specification. This tire was first introduced at last season’s 4 Hours of Le Castellet and will remain as the standard LMP2 specification for the entirety of the 2026 ELMS season. The same specification will also be used by all LMP2 entrants at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June.

“Our newest Eagle Medium slick specification is now well understood by LMP2 teams,” Bickley added. “With a full season of data behind them, teams have a strong understanding of its performance and will be focused on extracting even more over a stint. With tire allocations increased this season under the latest regulations, teams enjoyed greater strategic flexibility, although not all teams elected to use their full allocation. 

The majority of teams focused on minimising time in the pit lane through double- and triple-stinting tires, underlining the performance and consistency of the Goodyear Racing Eagle Medium, while a small number of others opted to fit fresher tires more frequently. The performance of the Goodyear Racing Eagle Medium allowed both options to be competitive, and a variety of strategies were in play across the field as a result.

“In the first half of the race, we saw several teams double stinting the unloaded left-hand side, but changing their right-hand side tires at every stop,” explained Stephen Bickley, Goodyear Endurance Programme Manager. “But as the race progressed, some teams began to double-stint both sides. This meant that teams that had only changed the right-hand side at the previous stop were onto their third stint with the left-hand tires. Across the field, we saw some teams stop as little as five times during the race, and some as many as eight, emphasising the range of different strategies teams employed.”

The FIA World Endurance Championship returns for the TotalEnergies 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps on 7-9 May 2026. This weekend, Goodyear Racing Eagle tires have also been in action in the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series races at Kansas Speedway, and at the opening round of the British Touring Car Championship at Donington Park.

At Donington, teams will be supplied with four sets of the ‘standard’ Goodyear Racing Eagle Medium compound, and one set of the ‘option’ Goodyear Racing Eagle Soft compound. But the revised weekend session format, which now features a single free practice session followed by qualifying and the ‘Race to Pole’ on Saturday, is expected to have the biggest impact on tyre strategy this season.

“This season, teams will have more preparation to do, but less time to do it in,” explains Michael Butler, Goodyear’s BTCC event leader. “The changes put a lot of pressure on drivers to make the most of free practice, as it’s the only real opportunity to understand how the tyres are working before dialling in a setup that needs to perform in qualifying and the Race to Pole. 

“Typically, teams will add a degree or even a degree and a half of extra negative camber for qualifying to maximise one-lap performance. However, with parc fermé conditions in place between qualifying and the Race to Pole, what will make a strong strategy is finding a setup that works across both sessions, or choosing to favour one and accepting a compromise in the other. That’s where tyre management and understanding how the different compounds behave will be key.”

That opens up a range of strategic options for teams. You can double stint and gain time in the pit lane, or with the increased allocations, teams may choose to run new tires more often. Our Goodyear Racing Eagle Medium tire gives them the flexibility to consider both options.

“The circuit also has a clear left-hand bias, which places more load on the right side of the car. Teams may look at single stinting only the loaded side, while carrying the unloaded side for longer and doing more stints on that side. These differing strategies are what we expect will define the race for many teams this weekend.”

Teams often choose to double-stint tires, carefully weighing the time saved during pit stops against the potential performance drop during extended runs. Goodyear expects that balance to be a key strategic factor once again during the four-hour race.

The tire was previously used in FIA World Endurance Championship competition at São Paulo, Circuit of The Americas and Bahrain last season, where it demonstrated strong durability on similarly demanding track surfaces. This season, Barcelona is the only event across both the ELMS and FIA WEC calendars where this compound is allocated.

Spain achieved significant CO₂ emissions reduction while serving as the E-Job digital pilot for the entire region. Italy, with its high-volume vehicle and refurbishment requirements, benefits from a solution specifically tailored to ensure scalable and efficient operations.

Major Operational and Environmental Challenges

With a diversified owned fleet of nearly 12,000 vehicles in the region—semi-trailers, tankers, electric vehicles, and vehicles dedicated to environmental and sanitation markets—plus 3,300 vehicles under management contracts, TIP faced critical challenges: the impact of inflation on the tire budget, insufficient retreading rates relative to its objectives, non-homogeneous tire stocks across the Goodyear service provider network, tracking discrepancies between countries, and the need for continuous improvement to reduce the number of incidents impacting safety, reliability and operational efficiency. TIP’s objectives were clear: optimize tire management to simultaneously control costs, carbon impact, and the fleet’s environmental footprint, while ensuring vehicle safety and availability.

A Co-Created Solution Adapted to Each Market

Initiated in 2006, the project was co-constructed by TIP and Goodyear and has continuously evolved to deliver an optimized experience to TIP’s customers. Both partners jointly defined their roadmap, indicators, and objectives to establish a common, measurable framework adapted to each of the three countries.

The Goodyear solution is built on three pillars:

• Goodyear new premium tires and optimization of retreaded tires stock near operational areas to ensure better availability and reduce carbon footprint

• A shared IT interface between both companies enabling transparent, real-time performance tracking

• Continuous technical and operational support to optimize tire management throughout its lifecycle

Identifying best practices from each country made it possible to define a shared objective of performance improvement and environmental impact reduction.

Tangible and Measurable Results

This approach delivered compelling results. The retreading rate has multiplied by 1.5 between 2023 and 2025 across the region, accompanied by an optimization of the tire budget. From an environmental perspective, TIP has reduced its CO₂ emissions by 15% through improved retreading rates, service quality, and stock optimization. Finally, a 14% decrease in incidents was recorded across the region, accompanied by an improvement of operational efficiency and safety.

Taken together, these results support TIP Group’s broader ESG ambitions, fostering more sustainable fleet management while preserving operational efficiency and the value delivered to customers, as evidenced by the very positive feedback received by TIP teams.

Joining the knight is a new figure central to the brand’s story: the American grey wolf. Fierce, adaptable, and always prepared for the terrain ahead, the wolf mirrors the spirit of Cooper drivers and the capability of Cooper products. Native to Ohio, just like Cooper, the wolf embodies determination, wittiness and ruggedness.

Both the knight and wolf will be visible across brand assets and hero brand moments.

Cooper’s refreshed design comes with a powerful new color system rooted in history and built for visibility:

Valor Green draws from Cooper’s long heritage of designing products built for demanding conditions and the natural landscapes where they’re used. It represents durability, expertise, and a connection to the outdoors. It’s a modern expression of the environments Cooper tires are made to tackle — a reminder that the brand helps drivers go farther, explore more, and trust the ground beneath them.

A heritage orange accent color originates from the early days of the Cooper brand, signaling energy and unmistakable character.

The palette also leans into nature which is at the heart of the Cooper brand.

Consumers will also note changes in typography, photography and illustration in the new brand identity.

The proposed changes, which are subject to required consultations with social partners, would impact approximately 600 sales and support function roles across EMEA. The company also expects to create around 200 new roles to support the new business model.

Cobra Chrome is positioned as Avon’s flagship product for cruiser and custom motorcycles, and plays a central role in its renewed product strategy. The range is now offered in 77 SKUs, including 14 sizes featuring the characteristic white sidewall design that has long been associated with Avon’s heritage in the custom and classic motorcycle sectors.

The redevelopment of the Cobra Chrome range follows a wide-ranging industrial upgrade programme across Avon’s entire motorcycle business. As part of this, the manufacturing of Avon’s premium motorcycle tires has gradually transitioned to Goodyear’s state-of-the-art motorcycle centre of excellence in Montluçon, France; a site already renowned in the motorcycle industry for producing Dunlop’s premium road tires and championship winning racing products.

To enable Cobra Chrome production at Montluçon, manufacturing processes had to be tailored to the new facility. Many of the Cobra Chrome sizes were new to the French site, requiring extensive re-engineering to meet Goodyear’s global standards for quality performance and consistency. This work has resulted in improved tire uniformity, higher yields, better operator ergonomics and production quality that is fully aligned with Goodyear manufacturing processes.

Dmitri Talboom, Motorcycle Product Manager, Goodyear, explains: “To bring Avon production in line with Goodyear’s standards for quality and performance, the Cobra Chrome range has been extensively re-engineered. Montluçon’s role in this revival has been crucial.”

The return of Cobra Chrome’s whitewall SKUs presented unique technical considerations for the Montluçon factory. The white rubber compound has been reformulated to improve resistance to discoloration, while the sidewall assembly process has evolved from a largely manual operation to one that is more automated. Computer-assisted quality checks have also been introduced to better ensure a premium finish.

Talboom added: “Whitewall tires are a defining element of Avon’s heritage and remain a distinctive choice for riders of custom and cruiser-style motorcycles. We are proud to see this iconic design resume in full production."

Avon Cobra Chrome now sits within a more streamlined Avon motorcycle range that also includes the 3D Supersport hypersport tire, Spirit ST and Roadrider MKII tires for sport-touring applications, Trailrider and Trekrider products for adventure use, and the classic Safety Mileage MKII and Speedmaster MKII products.

This focused portfolio ensures Avon continues to offer its most established and popular products, positioned as a complementary partner to the Dunlop range, which spans applications from off-road to hypersport.

Avon Cobra Chrome is available in 2026 in 77 front and rear sizes covering 15-23-inch fitments, including 14 sizes with a white sidewall design. The majority of sizes are on sale now, with the remainder being released during 2026.

The 2026 edition of the Dakar Rally once again pushed teams to their limits, with ultra-demanding terrain, long specials and changing conditions testing endurance and vehicle management. Following rocky tracks, dunes and fast desert sections, Team De Rooy achieved an impressive result.

Team #604 with Vaidotas Zala, Paulo Fiuza and Max van Grol, together with Team #602 featuring Ales Loprais, David Kripal and Jiri Stross, demonstrated strong teamwork and determination throughout the event, underlining Team De Rooy’s position as one of the most competitive teams in the Dakar truck category.

Throughout the rally, both crews relied on Goodyear OFFROAD 375/90R22.5 tires, designed to deliver traction, robustness and heat resistance in extreme off-road environments. Combined with Goodyear’s Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), the solution enabled continuous real-time monitoring of tire pressure and temperature, helping the crew maintain control, optimize performance and improve driving comfort across demanding stages.

In 2023, Goodyear launched its EV-Ready logo to mark the EV compatibility of its entire range.
