Dunlop’s new Sport Maxx RT 2 SUV offers drivers excellent grip and handling
The new tires bring grip and steering precision to high-performance SUVs
Brussels, March 2018 – Dunlop introduces the Sport Maxx RT 2 SUV, a new range of tires that builds on Dunlop‘s widely praised Dunlop Sport Maxx RT 2 and extends it to SUV sizes.
The Dunlop Sport Maxx RT 2 SUV is specifically designed for SUV owners who are looking for a sporty performance. The tire boasts a superior grip on dry and wet roads, and provides excellent handling, cornering and steering at higher speeds. [1] The Dunlop Sport Maxx RT 2 SUV also has an excellent grip and road contact during heavy handling and cornering.
Optimized steering precision
Dunlop’s engineers have optimized the tire shape for SUVs, resulting in a balanced pressure distribution across the footprint of the tire, which ensures constant and even contact with the road. That optimizes handling cornering and steering performance at higher speeds.
Superior grip on dry and wet roads
A new generation tread compound, developed specifically for the Sport Maxx RT 2 SUV, contains traction resin, which creates improved friction between the tire and road. This increases the tire’s surface grip, which results in a superior performance on dry and wet roads.
Excellent handling and cornering
The reinforced tread pattern, with its high-angled, V-shaped grooves, reduces the movement of the tread, making it sturdier in all directions. This feature is designed to enhance grip and road contact during heavy handling and cornering.
“Dunlop’s winning motorsport experience is a fundamental asset used to design and develop Ultra High-Performance tires,” said Mike Rytokoski, Chief Marketing Officer at Goodyear Dunlop Europe. “Motorsport represents the ultimate test and proving ground as it enables us to collect substantial amounts of data and feedback from drivers and allows direct comparison with other tire brands, to push forward the boundaries of innovation.”
