Dunlop’s 24 Hours of the European Le Mans Series

Dunlop teams had a strong and competitive year in the 2017. There were more laps and more kilometres competed on Dunlop tyres, with more winners and more overtaking.

In addition to the strong results in the open tyre competition LMP2 class, the statistics tally with the exciting racing on track in the GTE class too.

2017 saw an impressive increase in changing positions at the front. In 2016 a total of 61 lead changes occurred in the LMP2 and GTE classes – in 2017 there were a total of 95: 53 in LMP2 and 42 in GTE

As expected, the new generation LMP2 cars were faster and covered greater distances. The 2017 winner covered 264km more than the 2016 champion in the same 24 hours of racing. But the GTE winners also travelled further to claim their title – JMW Motorsport raced 82km further than Beechdean AMR in 2016.
