Dunlop provides tire fitment to new Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC

New Dunlop Winter Sport 5 SUV to provide grip during winter for a determined drive in new AMG sports model

Dunlop is proud to announce yet another fitment for the new sports model Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC.

The new Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC will be fitted with the latest edition to Dunlop’s winter tire range, the Winter Sport 5 SUV in sizes 255/45 R 20 105V XL (front) and 285/40 R 20 108V XL (rear).

This achievement comes after extensive joint development work between Mercedes-AMG and Dunlop to develop tires that are specially adapted to meet the new car’s high-performance needs during the winter season. This includes race track testing on one of the most challenging tracks in the world, the Nürburgring-Nordschleife and testing at Dunlop’s specialist winter testing facility, Ivalo, northern Finland.

The new Dunlop Winter Sport 5 SUV provides excellent grip and performance to combat a variety of winter surfaces, including wet, ice and snow-covered roads. The tire offers a range of innovations including an increased number of tyre blocks[1], which offer enhanced performance on snow-covered roads and angled centre sipes, which provide superb lateral grip on slippery surfaces. Additionally, amplified depth of grooves defends against aquaplaning, and optimized construction and weight distribution improves on fuel efficiency.[2]

Nick Harley, Managing Director OE Consumer EMEA said: “This new AMG sports model is designed to provide an intense drive with a larger, more dominant, vehicle size. The Dunlop Winter Sport 5 SUV is designed to offer the ambitious and active Mercedes-AMG consumer with a tire that suits a fast-paced lifestyle no matter what the road conditions are like. We are thrilled to be fitted to the latest AMG sports model once again.”
