Audi A8 equipped with Goodyear OE tires
Goodyear is proud to announce that Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 and UltraGrip Performance Gen-1 tires have been accredited as Original Equipment fitments for the new Audi A8.
The A8 will be equipped with different designs and sizes: the UltraGrip Performance Gen-1 winter tires will be available in sizes 235/55R18 104H XL and 265/40R20 104V XL, and the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 summer tires will be available in sizes 255/45R19 104Y XL – in both the standard and the Ultra-Low Rolling Resistance version, to answer Audi’s low fuel consumption requirements - and 265/40R20 104Y XL. All Goodyear tires will be marked AO (and AO1) to indicate the approval from Audi as Original Equipment specifically developed for its vehicles.
To provide a peaceful and comfortable drive, the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 designs homologated for the A8 incorporate Goodyear’s SoundComfort technology - an open-cell polyurethane foam element applied to the inner surface of the tire that works directly to reduce the tire air cavity resonance produced by the air vibration, one of the main sources of tire noise. This technology can help make the vehicle’s cabin up to 50% quieter compared to regular tires, without compromising on driving performance.
Nick Harley, Goodyear’s Managing Director OE Consumer EMEA, said: “Being chosen by Audi to produce Original Equipment for its groundbreaking new A8 top-class luxury saloon is a great reward for our Goodyear engineers. They have delivered tailor-made tires to address the needs of demanding Audi A8 drivers, looking for a unique and dynamic driving experience with excellent handling, comfort and performance in all road conditions.”
