As part of this visionary collaboration, Goodyear engineered three unique tires—each custom-designed to match the aesthetic and performance needs of the Polygon’s configurations:          

·        The Urban and Player tires feature the legendary Eagle F1 tread pattern, celebrating its 45th anniversary in 2025—a symbol of high-performance heritage.

·        The Explorer tire pays tribute to the iconic Goodyear Wrangler, incorporating its rugged tread design to deliver traction to unleash unforgettable off-road experiences.

Beyond performance, the sidewall designs were crafted to visually express a new era of automotive innovation using coloring and laser technologies —where tire aesthetics and functionality converge to push the boundaries of design. 

This collaboration showcases Goodyear’s long-standing expertise in combining craftmanship with premium manufacturing technologies to deliver the highest levels of customization from product performance to aesthetics.

Together, Goodyear and Peugeot are setting new trends and driving a new era—where every journey is smarter and more expressive.

In 2023, Goodyear launched its EV-Ready logo to mark the EV compatibility of its entire range. Every new size introduced since then includes the logo on its sidewall to denote how the technology within every new Goodyear tire is optimised and compatible for the latest EVs, but every tire in the range meets the EV-Ready criteria, whether they carry the logo or not.

An EV converts much more of its input energy into usable motion than an ICE vehicle, which magnifies the effect of rolling resistance, hence making it a much larger factor on overall vehicle efficiency. EVs tend to be heavier than comparable ICE vehicles, too. Goodyear develops its range of tires to ensure optimised efficiency without compromising the tire’s exceptional performance.

SoundComfort Technology is a cutting-edge feature which dramatically reduces interior noise created by tire/road interaction in quiet EVs. This technology has the potential to reduce interior noise by up to 50%¹, which is crucial to ensure a quiet, comfortable journey.

Moreover, the added weight and increased torque of EVs means the wear on EV tires can be much more substantial compared to traditional combustion vehicles. Goodyear’s Mileage Plus Technology offers drivers the opportunity to maximise the life of their tires and travel further with each set.

Goodyear ‘Electric Drive Technology’

To identify specific Original Equipment (OE) tires for EVs and PHEVs, Goodyear has introduced the Goodyear ‘Electric Drive Ready’ (EDR) marking. This means the tire features a customised range of technologies to cater for the needs specified by that particular car manufacturer, such as load capacity, handling performance and range.

Goodyear collaborates with OEMs to develop OE fitments that are ideal for their latest vehicles. 

1) Compared to its predecessor, Asymmetric 5

Goodyear has supplied tires for many of Audi’s most exciting models, including the Q6 e-tron, e-tron GT quattro and RS e-tron GT. The new collaboration as the primary tire supplier for the Audi A5 and S5 marks the beginning of the next chapter in the partnership between these two iconic brands.

Goodyear tires, including the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6, Eagle F1 SuperSport and UltraGrip Performance 3, deliver fitments for Ultra High Performance, Ultra Ultra High Performance and winter driving applications, with varied focuses from low rolling resistance to excellent braking to meet the driver’s needs and preferences. These tires have ten fitments¹ that will cover the new A5 and S5 range in both saloon and Avant estate variants.

Audi and Goodyear's collaborative innovation

When developing an OE tire for a performance car, subjective driver feedback is a crucial parameter that previously could only be measured with real-world track testing. Goodyear is leading the way with the use of virtual development to get efficient and versatile feedback from test drivers who know the performance characteristics that premium performance car drivers demand. 

One of the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 fitments was developed using Goodyear’s state-of-the-art Simulation Center at its facility in Luxembourg. Opened last year, the driving simulator allows Goodyear’s R&D team to develop OE tires virtually, testing and validating tire models more quickly and by saving resources, to reach first approval from the OEM with fewer physical tire models. The Simulation Center opening in Luxembourg followed the launch of the inaugural center in Akron, Ohio – and allows Goodyear to have a global approach to tire development.

In all, the process of creating this virtually developed tire took ten months and met Goodyear’s goal of achieving first approval by Audi on its first physical iteration, which was produced after two virtual development cycles to assess handling, mileage performance and noise. According to Goodyear's calculations, developing just one physical iteration has the potential to save thousands of physical tires and thousands of kilometres of physical tire testing.

Three hero products on offer 

All tire fitments developed for the A5 and S5 models are from three of Goodyear’s hero product ranges in the UHP, UUHP and winter segments.

Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 is Goodyear’s award-winning¹ globally available tire designed for summer driving on wet and dry roads. Its low rolling resistance was a key feature for Audi, helping improve efficiency and comfort without sacrificing performance.

Inspired by the racetrack, the Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport shares DNA with Goodyear’s range of racing tires but is characterized by exceptional versatility and performance with balanced wet and dry performance on the road and track day capability. Stiffened tread ribs and a strengthened sidewall result in a responsive tire that allows drivers to feel feedback and enjoy exceptional performance for both road and track driving. 

For winter driving, Goodyear’s UltraGrip Performance 3 is the latest in Goodyear’s line of UltraGrip tires. Recognised as the winner of ADAC’s² latest winter tire test for its “safe and precise driving characteristics,”² it delivers enhanced handling on snow and optimised wet braking while maintaining comfort through a noise-cancelling tread pattern.

Building on a highly successful debut LMGT3 season in 2024, Goodyear will once again provide tires for every car in the class, reinforcing its commitment to the pinnacle of endurance racing, including the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans. There are some changes to the Goodyear racing tire range for the upcoming season.

This season will mark the debut of Goodyear’s newest slick compound: the ‘Eagle Hard’ specification tire. Designed for improved longevity, this new slick, distinguished by its red sidewall markings, will debut at the newly refurbished Sao Paulo in July before returning at Circuit of The Americas and Bahrain; three tracks known for high temperatures or abrasive surfaces.

For all other rounds, teams will run Goodyear’s proven ‘Eagle Medium’ compound from 2024, alongside an Eagle wet-weather tire designed for maximum performance in all conditions.

Mike McGregor, Head of Sales Endurance Racing EMEA, explains how the new compound will impact racing: “Endurance racing is all about balance, and that’s exactly what our 2025 tire range provides. With LMGT3 featuring front, mid, and rear-engine cars, our goal is to provide a consistent platform that ensures competitive racing across all manufacturers. 

“Last season, our proven Eagle Medium specification tire was able to meet the demands of peak driver performance, maintaining competitive pace over multiple driver stints. At Le Mans, some drivers even completed up to five consecutive stints on a single set of Goodyear tires. The introduction of the Hard compound builds on this performance, with it able to handle high-degradation circuits and maintain even more pace over multiple stints.”

New teams, same close racing

After this weekend’s prologue, the 2025 WEC season properly gets underway next Friday with the Qatar 1812 km. This year LMGT3 brings an exciting grid including nine of the most recognisable manufacturers in GT racing, each competing with two cars. 

Among the newcomers making their LMGT3 debuts in Qatar are rising Brazilian star Eduardo Barrichello – son of multiple grand prix winner Rubens Barrichello – and Aston Martin Racing factory driver Valentin Hasse Clot. Both will compete for new entrant Racing Spirit of Léman in an Aston Martin Vantage AMR LMGT3.

Across the season, Goodyear will support nine confirmed LMGT3 manufacturers: Aston Martin, BMW, Corvette, Ferrari, Ford, Lexus, McLaren, Porsche, and newcomer Mercedes-AMG. The German marque partners with 2024 LMGT3 race winner Iron Lynx, fielding two cars in the category.

The Iron Dames also return, continuing to break barriers and inspire future female participation in motorsport. This season, Célia Martin, Rahel Frey, and Michelle Gatting will field the #85 Porsche 911 GT3 R LMGT3 after switching to Porsche machinery with Manthey Racing.

Goodyear’s commitment to endurance racing also extends to the European Le Mans Series (ELMS), where two of the three categories continue to race exclusively on Goodyear tires. With another six-round season ahead, including a return to the world-class Silverstone Circuit, fans can expect another season of fiercely competitive racing.

Fans take the wheel in the Goodyear Wingfoot Award

This season also brings a fresh twist to the Goodyear Wingfoot Award, as fans will now play a crucial role in choosing the award winner at the end of each race. 

Votes from both trackside attendees and viewers at home will decide the winner at each round. This new ‘driver of the weekend’ format puts fans at the heart of the action, celebrating the very performances that makes endurance racing at the highest level so thrilling. 

“Since its introduction in 2023, the Goodyear Wingfoot Award has always celebrated the very best driver performances in endurance racing,” adds McGregor. “Now, we’re giving fans the chance to have their say, putting them at the heart of the action.”

To meet the increasing demand in Europe’s SUV and EV markets, the new sizes will range from 18 to 23 inches, with 93% of the new SKUs measuring 19 inches or larger, in response to market trends favouring larger rim sizes.  

The new SKUs are optimised to fit a wide range of modern vehicles and popular EVs, such as the Volvo EX90, Audi Q7, Range Rover Sport, Tesla Model Y, Polestar 4 and Audi Q8 e-tron. Like all Goodyear tires, Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 is EV-ready thanks to its low rolling resistance which improves efficiency and reduces interior noise, making it ideal for the very latest vehicles coming to market. 

Award-winning performance for its class-leading technologies 

The 42 SKUs will be introduced through a phased rollout, with 27 fitments launching in the first half of 2025, followed by the additional 15 in the second half of the year. More than 50% of these new SKUs will incorporate Goodyear’s innovative SoundComfort and SealTech technologies. SoundComfort minimises road noise for a quieter, more refined driving experience, while SealTech effectively seals punctures up to 5mm, enhancing both convenience and safety. 

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6’s low rolling resistance and high load rating makes it optimal for modern SUVs and electric vehicles, which demand more from a tire to maximise range and efficiency. Its EV-ready construction also features a noise-cancelling pattern which reduces road noise by 1 dB(A)¹; equivalent to more than a 20% reduction the tire’s actual noise output, for a quieter, more refined driving experience.² 

Goodyear’s Dry Stability Plus Technology is also present in the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6. This allows the tire to adapt to the road surface and always deliver the optimal amount of grip, traction and stability. In wet conditions, the tire features an advanced resin for optimal road contact, giving the tire excellent wet grip. 

Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 has justified its popularity across Europe with several magazine test wins since its launch, including taking top honours in the prestigious Auto Bild summer tire test in 2023 and the Eco-Master title in the same test for two consecutive years.³

New Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 SKUs for 2025:

Goodyear’s 2022 report is organized around the four pillars of the company’s corporate responsibility framework, Goodyear Better Future: Sustainable Sourcing, Responsible Operations, Advanced Mobility and Inspiring Culture. Some of the report’s highlights are described below.

Sustainable Sourcing: Goodyear scientists and engineers continued to make significant progress toward the company’s 2030 goal of introducing a 100% sustainable-material tire with the development of a demonstration tire made of 90% sustainable materials*. This demonstration tire has 17 featured ingredients, including four different carbon blacks produced from bio-methane, carbon dioxide, end-of-life tire pyrolysis oil feedstocks and plant-based oil; soybean oil; rice husk ash silica; and bio-renewable pine tree resins.

Responsible Operations: Goodyear continued its work to reduce its environmental impact. In 2022, the company increased its utilization of renewable electricity to 34% across its global manufacturing operations, up from 3% in 2019.

Advanced Mobility: In 2022, Goodyear continued its focus on improving fuel efficiency by achieving a 32.9% reduction in rolling resistance and a 9.4% reduction in tire weight in its global consumer tire portfolio, from a 2005 baseline.

Inspiring Culture: In 2022, associate membership in Goodyear’s Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) grew by 6%. It was also a milestone year for one of the company’s ERGs with the Akron-based Goodyear Women’s Network (GWN) celebrating its 100^th anniversary in 2022.
