Dunlop Teams head to cooler 8 Hours of Oschersleben in FIM Endurance World Championship

  • 16 of 33 teams have chosen Dunlop tyres
  • €4000 for top Dunlop Independent Trophy team
  • Teams and tyres face lower temperatures than last season
  • Tyre restrictions back in place

Round three of the FIM Endurance World Championship season takes place at the German track at Oschersleben, south west of Berlin. The 8 Hours of Oschersleben starts at 14.00 (CEST) on Saturday 20th May.

Tyre restrictions will be back in place after the regulation was suspended for the new surface at the Le Mans 24 Hours. Dunlop is confident in the tyres’ ability to double stint to give the teams the combination of durability and performance that they need to win. EWC class entrants are permitted 20 tyres while the Superstock class machines have just 13 for both qualifying sessions and the race.

Last year, Oschersleben hosted the season finale, with GMT94 Yamaha winning the race with a Dunlop top-four result ending a strong year. The August race saw temperatures that are much higher than those expected in May and will change the demands on the tyres. Dunlop’s support engineers will work with the teams to optimise the tyre and bike performance to suit the prevailing conditions.

Suzuki Endurance racing Team currently leads the championship while GMT94 Yamaha are third. In the Superstock World Cup class Tati Team Beaujolais top the standings followed by Moto Ain CRT.

Dunlop Independents’ Trophy

At the first round of the season,Tati Team Beaujolias was the top Dunlop Independent Trophy finisher at Le Mans after Moto Ain CRT took the top prize at the opening round. 23 teams received assistance from the Dunlop Independent Trophy prize fund in its first season. At Oschersleben ten registered Dunlop Independnt Trophy teams will be competing for the prizes, with the winner receiving €4000.
