The FIM Motocross World Championship round at the Frauenfeld – Gachnang track saw KEMEA Yamaha Official MX’s Benoit Paturel claimed his first ever MX2 Grand Prix victory today at the MXGP of Switzerland. The Frenchman fought a hard race one, taking second place only 0.62 seconds after the leader. Race two was his, winning by over four seconds to take the event win. Five Dunlop riders finished in the top-ten. The result promotes him to third in the championship. While it is his first GP win, he has previously won on Dunlop tyres at the 2016 Motocross of Nations.

In MXGP Wilvo Yamaha’s Arnaud Tonus had a strong home first race with a victory in which he led every lap. In race two he was denied a better event result than ninth by contact from an opponent which caused the Swiss rider to crash on the second lap.

In addition to the World Championship events, this weekend’s support races included the FIM European MX300 season finale. Britain’s James Dunn won the first race and the Grand Prix, but it was fellow Brit and Dunlop/KTM rider Brad Anderson who won race two to confirm the 2017 Championship title.
