Dunlop’s LMP2 tyre ‘Road To Le Mans’ 2017
Le Mans sees a record number of LMP2 cars racing on Dunlop tyres – 22 of the 25 entrants have selected Dunlop tyres to grip them to the epic La Sarthe track. The year will be notable because all of the cars are racing on the track for the first time – courtesy of new regulations for 2017. Typically Dunlop gathers data over the seasons from car and tyre combinations and the tyre designs evolve; Jota Sport’s Mighty 38 Gibson began the 2016 Le Mans race with 80,000 kilometres of set-up data while the team has just 7000 kilometres of experience and information for its Jackie Chan Racing Oreca in this year’s event.

General regulations
Wet tyre use only permitted when Race Director declares a wet track – wet tyre use unlimited.
Penalty for breach of tyre regulation: 3 minute Stop and Go.
Tyres used for pits to start grid not included in allocation.
Tyres considered for allocation of tyres for the race will be counted from the start of the race.
